Journey To Excel will offer another House League Skills program this spring.

These sessions are not intended for the Dolphin Rep players as they have their own program on Mondays

Journey To Excel will improve your daughter’s edgework and her stride. As she improves these technical aspects … she will become a much better skater.

When I was a child, we were taught to “take your bad habits … and do them faster”. This program follows the Hockey Canada curriculum which teaches the participants how to use proper technique first … and then speed it up. They teach them to get the most out of each stride … and they eliminate inefficient movements. The kids will get a work-out … but the focus is on technique not wind sprints.

JTE is run by Adrian Lomonaco (the Technical Skills Coach for Hockey Canada) and Jennifer Botterill (4 time Olympic Gold Medalist). Their instructors are players from the CWHL and Major Junior hockey.

Next week we need to confirm whether we have the numbers to commit to:

  • one timeslot (Novice through Bantam) all at 5:45
  • or two (Novice and the majority of Atoms at 5:45 / some Atoms, PeeWee and Bantam at 6:45).

If you want a spot, please bring a cheque on Saturday to the House League Championship Day event. Please write your daughter’s name and birth year (eg 2007) on the comment line of the cheque.
