U21 – Joe Butkevich
Joe Butkevich – Head Coach – Intermediate AA
Joe, is a Hockey Canada HP1 certified coach, and is in his 4th season Coaching the Etobicoke Jr. Dolphins (PWHL) program as Head Coach. He also has Hockey Canada Level 1 & 2 Goalie Coach certifications and is a D1 Coach Evaluator.
This season, Joe was selected to be apart of both the OWHA Team Red & Team Blue Coaching staffs at the 2019 National Championships in Morden, Manitoba.
Besides coaching Hockey in Canada, Joe has spent the past 6 years as an Ambassador with the Hamilton, New Zealand Inline Hockey Club. And to begin 2020, he has been selected to be an Assistant Coach with the 2020 Team China U18 World Championship team in Katowice, Poland.
Over the past four seasons, the Etobicoke Jr. program has had 40+ players earn Canadian or American athletic scholarships as student/athletes.
This season, the Junior program has captured the 2019 Stoney Creek Showcase. Also during his tenure with the Etobicoke Jr. program, they have captured the Stoney Creek Silver Division & Tournoi de Hockey Feminine de Quebec Championships, and Canada-USA Cup Kitchener Showcase.

U18AA (Midget) – Tyler Fines
The Etobicoke Dolphins are very pleased to announce the return of Tyler Fines for his 4th season as the Etobicoke Dolphins Midget AA Head Coach for 2020-2021. Previous to joining the Dolphins, Tyler was the Head Coach of the Brampton Thunder of the CWHL. In that role, Tyler had the opportunity to coach Team Canada Olympians and NCAA/CIS graduates. With Brampton, Tyler was named CWHL Professional Coach of the Year in 2015-16.
Tyler’s focus is to provide exposure for the players looking to pursue opportunities in the PWHL and NCAA/CIS. The 2019 Midget AA team has graduated 8 players to Junior.
Midget AA is the preparatory level to develop and enhance the skills, concepts and systems that are required to be successful in the PWHL and beyond. With Tyler’s extensive background as a Head Coach, including his successful work with the highest performing female hockey players in Canada, Tyler is extremely well positioned to ensure the players are instructed for success in Midget AA and for the important years that follow. U15AA (Bantam) – Kelly McDonald
The Etobicoke Dolphins are pleased to announce the return of Kelly McDonald as the Head Coach of the Bantam AA team for the 2020-2021 season.
Before coaching Bantam, Kelly spent two seasons as assistant coach of the Etobicoke Junior Dolphins. Within the OWHA, Kelly has coached at the 2018 Ontario Summer Games (U16 High Performance) as well as the U18 Canada Winter Games Selection Camp.
Most recently, she was on staff with Team Ontario Blue at the 2019 National Women’s Under-18 Championships in Manitoba.
Prior to coaching, she played professionally in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) and Division I for the University of Maine. She also has over a decade’s worth of experience in Power Skating and Skill Development. As a coach, her goal is to create an environment in which athletes can become the best versions of themselves on and off the ice. More specifically, she wants to help create well-rounded student-athletes by providing them with the information, tools, and opportunities to grow.
Returning to the bench with Kelly will be Kristen Barbara of the Markham Thunder (CWHL) and York University (USport), and Julie Allen of the Toronto Furies (CWHL) and the University of New Hampshire (NCAA). Both are looking forward to sharing their passion and knowledge of the game with the next generation. Kristen and Julie also have prior coaching experience with Junior teams and have worked extensively within skill development.
Kelly looks forward to working closely with Tyler of the Midget AA team and Joe of the Junior team in an effort to maintain the cohesion promoted by the High Performance Development Stream.
